Palestinian Immigration

In the last few years, the immigration has experienced a big increase in Chile. In this case, the main topic would be the Palestinians.

This people have to change his habits to integrate without problems in our country, but after all, they still maintain part of their culture. Furthermore, some of the Palestinians have managed to work in many commercial areas, and some other related with their gastronomy, that it looks very interesting in our continent.

I’m interested to know more about the syncretism as result of their new life in Chile, about all the obstacles that they used to confront since they moved, and the experience to adapt in a new country so far in contrast to their native country, with a lot of differences in language, culture, and beliefs. So as a question I would say: ¿What are the main changes that the Palestinians have experimented in their culture and life after moving to Chile?

To obtain the more effective information for this research, I think that the mix methods like qualitative and quantitative types are the more suitable, like the interviews and surveys; this will be the method to follow, because they are the closest way to get the experiences of the immigrants.

To conclude, I think that a research that studies this type of facts in the society, would help us to understand in a better way the changes that we see actually in our countries, as a result of the lately globalisation. Doing this, we would find appropriate solutions to the principal problems about immigration.
